Trekking the Himalayas
We helped support Rev. Stuart and Raffy Jermy, who were part of a team from the UK who were trekking up into the Himalayas to a peak at a height of 4997m. This is five times higher than their usual Snowdonia challenges and takes them to an altitude where the thin air adds to the difficulty, for them, immensely! They will be fundraising for both Nepal and OM’s work in Ukraine and with refugees.

Music Matters In Oswestry and Borderlands
The foundation was pleased to be able to support local charity Music MOB which has been set up to advance the music education of children living in Oswestry and the surrounding areas, in full time state-funded education or being home educated up to the age of 18.
This will be achieved by providing funding for instrumental, singing and music theory teaching, and enabling access to musical instruments. This donation will fund the music tuition for three children for two years, as we strongly agree that learning a musical instrument is beneficial to a child in every aspect of their personal development.
25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea
We were thrilled to be contacted by Holly Millington, who has been selected to be one of twenty-seven Scouts from across Shropshire to attend the 25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea.
Holly told us, “There were various stages of application, interviews, and selection, and I feel very honoured and excited to be one of the final members of the Shropshire contingent, which is known as Unit 87.”
Congratulations Holly! We hope that the donation of £500 helps you reach your target of £4,700 very soon.

Oswestry Otters
Oswestry Otters contacted us to ask for 20 weeks of funding for a strength and conditioning class, hosted at Oswestry school hall for 35 performance swimmers.
Currently performance swimmers are swimming at county and regional level and due to not having access to a ‘home pool’, there is difficulty accessing pool times for the swimmers. Land training such as strength and conditioning classes, is a way of filling in this time table deficit, which enables the swimmers to have comparable fitness levels and opportunity to train to the peers that they are competing alongside.
Nikki Bainbridge head coach says:
"Swimmers being able to do pre and post pool land training is part of the swim England requirements for any swimmers joining the talent pathway. If swimmers cannot achieve specific requirements relating to the RMAP land training model they will not be allowed onto the talent pathway. We do not have the space on the poolside at Oswestry school or the leisure centre to undertake this type of training prior to any pool sessions. We manage 30 minutes per week at Moreton Hall but need to provide our senior swimmers (35) the opportunity to learn these skills to enable them to progress into the talent pathway if selected. In addition we only have 10 hours pool time per week for these swimmers which is far lower than suggested from SE for this ability group. As there is no additional pool time in the area, the provision of land training would start to fill this gap.”
