2024 Funded Projects

Ellesmere Rangers FC

It was a pleasure to be able to support Ellesmere Rangers by sponsoring a barrel of beer at the Ellesmere Beer Festival in June. It was their first beer festival and we hear that the event was a great success.

Music MOB

We were delighted to be asked to help Music MOB again, advancing the music education of children living in Oswestry and the surrounding areas in full time state-funded education up to the age of 18. We’ll be providing funding for 3 children, for them to benefit from music tuition and equipment. Music MOB now teaches nearly 100 children across 6 schools, with teachers providing feedback about the very positive benefits the children are enjoying.

Oswestry Team Tennis

Oswestry Team Tennis is an LTA registered club and a registered charity, based in Cae Glas Park in Oswestry. The club currently has around 150 members, predominantly juniors, who enjoy the opportunity to use tennis as the vehicle to improve their health, fitness and wellbeing.

We have supported Oswestry Team Tennis in the past and were delighted to be able to support them again, providing £500 towards their current plans to demolish a redundant workshop adjacent to the tennis courts and replace it with a modular building. This will provide them with a community clubhouse which will be fit for the 21st century.

They have plans to grow the club across the board with increased membership, which will consequently increase their coaching programmes to meet the increased demand.

Having a more welcoming environment which includes a clubhouse will provide a social hub to help retain and attract new members.

Knockin And Kinnerley Cricket Club

Knockin and Kinnerley Cricket Club, founded in 1862, plays a significant role in the local community, providing a hub of activity and engagement for all ages. The club boasts four senior teams, two mid-week T20 teams, two junior teams, and a ladies' team, many of whom represent Shropshire at the county level.

The 4th team serves as a vital training ground for young players transitioning to senior cricket, and they recently reached the top of their league, highlighting the strength and dedication of the club’s youth program. Shaun Davis leads the youth setup, which meets every Monday for coaching sessions. These sessions have been greatly enhanced by a £750 donation from The Charlotte Hartey Foundation, which funded new equipment, including balls and a battery for the bowling machine. This contribution has significantly improved the training environment, enabling young players to develop their skills in a supportive and well-equipped setting.

The club is also known for its summer camp, running from 12th to 16th August, which combines cricket training with entertaining activities such as performances by a clown, an exotic animals expert and a magician. This camp provides an opportunity for children to learn and have fun, making it a highly anticipated event each year. On 14th August, during the Summer Camp, the club will host a Pink Day dedicated to cancer awareness and to express gratitude to The Charlotte Hartey Foundation and to all supporters who enable the club's continued success. This event will raise awareness and celebrate the community spirit that sustains the club.

The ethos of Knockin and Kinnerley Cricket Club is captured by the acronym RESPECT:

- Respect

- Encourage

- Sportsmanship

- Play

- Educate

- Conduct

- Treat

These values are central to the club's operations, ensuring it remains a welcoming and respectful community space.

Knockin and Kinnerley Cricket Club is a very special place, supporting families and fostering a love for cricket across generations. We are delighted that our donation from The Charlotte Hartey Foundation has made a significant and lasting impact, allowing the club to enhance its programs and facilities.
