Trekking the Himalayas

The Charlotte Hartey Foundation was proud to support Rev. Stuart and Raffy Jermy in their incredible expedition to the Himalayas, where they trekked with a UK team to a peak reaching 4,997 metres—five times higher than their usual challenges in Snowdonia. This high-altitude trek, made even more difficult by the thin air, was part of a fundraising effort supporting causes in Nepal and the work of Operation Mobilisation (OM) in Ukraine and with refugees.

Music Matters In Oswestry and Borderlands

Locally, the foundation provided funding to Music MOB, a charity committed to enhancing music education for children in Oswestry and the surrounding areas. The donation will fund instrumental and vocal tuition, as well as music theory lessons for three children over two years. Music MOB aims to remove barriers to music learning by offering both instruction and access to instruments, ensuring all children have the opportunity to develop their creativity and confidence through music.

25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea

We were also pleased to contribute £500 to Holly Millington, who was selected as one of only twenty-seven Scouts from Shropshire to attend the 25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea. Holly went through a rigorous selection process to join Unit 87, the official Shropshire contingent. Her enthusiasm and achievement were inspiring, and the foundation was glad to play a part in helping her reach her £4,700 fundraising target for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Oswestry Otters

Oswestry Otters were supported with funding for 20 weeks of strength and conditioning training for 35 performance swimmers. With limited access to pool time due to the lack of a dedicated facility, land-based training plays a vital role in helping swimmers meet Swim England’s talent pathway requirements. The funding helps ensure that these young athletes can continue to develop their strength, meet competitive benchmarks, and access the same opportunities as their peers at county and regional levels.
