The Movement Centre

The Charlotte Hartey Foundation was proud to support The Movement Centre, a remarkable Oswestry-based charity helping children with movement difficulties through specialised therapy called ‘Targeted Training’. Their current ‘Stand With Us!’ campaign highlights the importance of standing frames, a vital piece of equipment used daily at home by the children undergoing therapy. These frames help the children gain greater movement control, allowing them to develop key life skills and independence.

Derwen College

We also had the pleasure of supporting Derwen College by sponsoring students participating in the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Our initial donation of £682 allowed a student with mobility challenges, Brendan, to take part in a sailing expedition on the Norfolk Broads. Inspired by his visit and positive spirit, we doubled our support to £1,364, enabling another student to take part. Students Lizzie and Dylan, both accomplished swimmers for Team GB in Down Syndrome Swimming, are taking on the challenge of a four-day Snowdonia expedition. It’s been incredibly rewarding to help these students experience new adventures, grow their confidence, and develop important life skills.

Primary Trauma Care Foundation

Thanks to a grant from the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation, we are able to help the Primary Care Foundation with their work in Sri Lanka, where funding had nearly ran out. Find out more about their work here.

Clywd Special Riding Centre

Clwyd Special Riding Centre is a registered charity located in Llanfynydd, near Wrexham, North Wales. The Centre provides state-of-the-art facilities that are fully accessible and inclusive for a wide variety of equine-based activities, benefitting people of all ages with a wide range of disabilities and additional needs, including mental health and well-being.

Back in May, the Centre faced closure due to rising costs and falling donations. A crowd-funding campaign was launched and through the tireless efforts of the team desperate to save the Centre, over £300,000 was raised. We were very happy to be able to help, with a donation of £500 made to the campaign.

Ellesmere Bowling Club

We’ve supported Ellesmere Bowling Club for a number of years now, helping them to run a full programme of league, competition and social bowling for people of all ages and abilities.

The views from their top green are amazing, being the highest green in England, and the site of a motte and Bailey castle – a perfect spot for our banner!

MusicMOB

Another organisation that we’re happy to support is MusicMOB – over the last 3 years, we’ve enabled 3 children to learn to play a musical instrument and we’re delighted to donate £1,200 to support the tuition costs for another 2 groups of 3 children.

So far in this academic year, MusicMOB has provided lessons to 115 young people across 7 schools and the positive impact on those involved is truly amazing.

Crane Quality Counselling

We were very proud to be able to support Crane Quality Counselling with a donation of £500. This donation will help provide vital counselling support for local children facing challenges such as bereavement, family difficulties, or school-related pressures. In fact, it means that three young people will each be able to access up to six counselling sessions with highly qualified professionals who give their all to supporting children through difficult times.

We’re honoured to play a small part in helping these young people find the support they need and deserve.

St Martins Baby and Toddler Group

The Charlotte Hartey Foundation is proud to have donated two table and bench units to the St Martins Baby and Toddler Group.

These new additions will give children and families a welcoming space to sit, play, and connect together.

We’re delighted to support the amazing work this group does for young families in the community.

Chirk Dragons Swim Club

We’re delighted to share that The Charlotte Hartey Foundation has donated £500 to .

This contribution will help to fund new gym equipment and support lifeguard training, ensuring young swimmers have the resources and safety skills they need to thrive in and out of the pool.

The Foundation is proud to continue encouraging youth development, health, and community spirit - values that were so important to Charlotte.
