The Charlotte Hartey Foundation has awarded a £275 grant to Oswestry Team Tennis (OTT) to support junior member Maisie Anderson in completing her LTA Level One coaching qualification.

OTT is a LTA registered, junior-focused tennis club based in Cae Glas Park, Oswestry, with around 140 members, the majority of whom are young players. As a registered charity, the club keeps membership fees low to encourage participation in the sport.

Maisie, now 16, has been a member of the club since the age of five. She assists with coaching sessions, represents the club as its junior representative, and is a strong role model for younger players.

The grant will help cover the cost of her LTA Level One course at David Lloyd Cheshire, enabling her to further develop her coaching skills and continue supporting junior tennis at the club.

The Charlotte Hartey Foundation has proudly supported MusicMOB for a number of years, helping the charity provide young people with the opportunity to begin or continue learning a musical instrument.

During the current academic year, MusicMOB has delivered instrumental lessons to 116 young people across nine schools, with students learning twelve different instruments.

The Foundation's latest donation of £600 will enable another small group of two or three children to take up instrumental tuition, helping them develop new skills, build confidence and experience the lifelong benefits that learning music can bring.

The Charlotte Hartey Foundation has proudly supported Derwen College's Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme for a number of years, helping students with additional needs take part in experiences that build confidence, independence and resilience.

We were therefore pleased to continue our support this year with a donation of £1,200, enabling two more students to work towards their Gold Award.

Students at Derwen College have a range of additional needs, including autism, physical disabilities and communication difficulties. Through determination and perseverance, they embrace the challenges of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, gaining valuable life skills and confidence along the way.

Students Claudia and Jonathan recently visited our Oswestry office, together with Duke of Edinburgh's Award Coordinator Steve Evans, to collect the donation and share stories from their recent Gold expedition in Snowdonia. Hearing about their experiences and the challenges they had overcome was a powerful reminder of the positive difference opportunities like these can make.
